  15. in Pasadena, Calif. Though he was well known for his role as
  16. the wagon master in the TV series Wagon Train, from 1961 to
  17. 1965, as well as for his acting assignments in such films as
  18. Psycho and Rooster Cogburn, McIntire made a name--or, rather,
  19. a sound--for himself as a booming, authoritative performer
  20. on The March of Time, early radio's best-known news-documentary
  21. series.
